UConn wins back-to-back tournaments.
On Monday night, the UConn Huskies took down the Purdue Boilermakers in a 75-60 brawl in the men’s national championship. Head coach Dan Hurley led the team to back to back title winners, the first to do so since Florida in 2007. Tristen Newton scored 20 points during the game leading the team to victory. Purdue’s big man and 2024 Wooden award winner, Zack Edey led the team scoring 37 points. However, despite his efforts it wasn’t enough to stop the Huskies dominant defense as they held Purdue to 10 points in 10 minutes in the second half. UConn has won every game in their tournament by over 10 points. This is the 6th title for UConn.
